Our Alliance

We have identified distinctive but complementary areas of expertise within all of the schools in our Teaching School Alliance. This allows students and staff to benefit from a fertile training ground and a range of different experiences in contrasting settings.

We believe that our strength as an Alliance comes from the rich diversity of the schools that we work with.  Each school is unique and different; we value our trusted partnership,  sharing best practice and collaborating on research projects and training.

Our Alliance schools work with us in a variety of different ways; some of our schools simply want to access to our Teacher Training programmes in order to grow their own teachers, whilst others want to put forwards skilled members of staff or senior leaders to be accredited as Specialist Leaders and Local Leaders of Education. With some of our schools we collaborate closely on devising CPD for teachers at all stages of their career whilst others engage with us on our ongoing research projects. We offer outreach and School to School support to schools looking for expertise at leadership level through our National Leaders of Education (NLEs).

We have formed strategic partnerships with the Teaching School Council and other Teaching Schools across our region as well as  Unity Research School in Suffolk.  Our work for the DFE includes a number of new projects, where our National Leaders of Education are working to support schools across Norfolk and Suffolk with issues such as recruitment and retention and professional development for teachers in the early stages of their careers. As time goes by we hope to build on these existing relationships and forge new ones.

We work in close partnership with the UCL/IOE and Goldsmiths University offering world-class teacher training for student teachers through the school direct and PGCE programmes. Next year we hope to extend our offer further to include an apprenticeship programme with London Metropolitan University.
